Lunch Committee

The Berlin school law provides for the founding of a so-called lunch committee by the school conference. This committee should be as similar as possible to the equal representation of the school conference. This includes an appropriate representation of students and parents, the school management, pedagogical staff and teachers. Parenthood should represent a socially and culturally balanced image of those involved in school life.

The members of the lunch committee do not have to be members of the school conference or participate in other bodies at the same time, but the members are to be determined by the school conference.

In addition to participation in the selection of the caterer under public procurement law by the responsible school authorities, together with test tasting and evaluation of the implementation concepts, the Lunch Committee is responsible for quality assurance and quality control in the ongoing contractual relationship. The brochure of the Senate on the subject of reorganization of school lunch is worth reading in this matter.
